Osprey V22 arrives at N99

One of the more dramatic events at Brandywine Airport was the arrival of the prototype Bell-Boeing Tiltrotor V-22 Osprey.

The US Marine Corps convertaplane flew here under its own power on March 27, 1997.

This remarkable aircraft is prototype #3… #1 and #2 never made it through the development and testing process.

That was its last flight… at least for the foreseeable future. The American Helicopter Museum and Education Center is its new home, where it will remain on display outdoors for you to see whenever you visit the airport.

Be sure to visit the museum, located directly across the runway from the terminal building, to see all the other displays, and to learn a little more about the world of aviation.
